By us for YOU

This store is a collaboration of two successful Caribbean designers; Clyde Johnson and Richie Richardson. Both are from Trinidad & Tobago, where the Carnival festivities are launched in December. But the gala event of Masquerade, reigns supreme for two days before Ash Wednesday, on Carnival Monday and Tuesday.

We created this store, due to high demand for our merchandise and a desire to supply our customers with a range of quality products. Our designs are original and can only be purchased directly from us. You can purchase both retail and wholesale. Wholesale orders are 1 dozen items of the same category.

The prominent cultures of T&T are a triad of Calypso, Steelpan and Carnival. All three are complementary and interwoven. And even though, they were born at different times, it is fair to say, one cannot exist without the other. The Carnival Store will design and produce merchandise featuring those generic themes. Themes will also reflect the State, Island or Country where Carnival is being held.

This we celebrate with pride as the Greatest Show on Earth. And what began in Trinidad & Tobago on emancipation day 1832. Was introduced to America over 60 years ago in Harlem by a group of Trinis. Today it is known as the Brooklyn Caribbean American Carnival and is now the largest street theatre-festival in the United States.

From Boston to Washington DC to Atlanta to Miami to Carlifornia to Caribana in Toronto...there are now over 40 Trini style carnivals in North America and growing. Also in this group is Nottinghill Carnival in London and Jamaica Carnival. Other carnivals with T&T influence are Crop Over In Barbados, Masharami in Guyana, Vincy Mas in St. Vincent and Grenada Carnival...to name a few.
